PESHAWAR — In a major crackdown against credential fraud, the Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially removed 30 Medical Officers (BS-17) from service after exposing that they were practicing using fake Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) registrations and fabricated credentials.
The scandal of fake registration has doubted credibility of PM&DC , a regulator for medical and dental education in Pakistan.
Responding to a NEWSMAN query by phone on Wednesday , PM&DC registrar , Dr Rehan , said ” We are looking into the issue”.
The action was taken under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2011.Alongside immediate service termination, the department has ordered the recovery of all public money and salaries drawn by the accused individuals during their tenure.
The terminated doctors were found operating within the public health system utilizing fraudulent PMDC licenses.Formal notifications were issued terminating the employment of all 30 individuals with immediate effect, coupled with strict financial recovery directives. The case highlights vulnerabilities in preliminary recruitment verifications, prompting calls for stricter background checks across the provincial health infrastructure.
