ISLAMABAD : A core committee meeting of Pakistan Tehreek. e Insaf (PTI) held in Islamabad on Sunday with chairman , Imran Khan, in the chair decided to further delay announcement of date for next long march against the coalition government.
After the meeting PTI announced that the core committee of the party decided to announce date for next long march after June 15 on account of upcoming budget .
Delay in announcement of long march date due to upcoming budget seems bit illogical . PTI is visibly confused on the issue of next long march. While announcing end to the long march on wee hours of May 26 last in Islamanad , former prime minister had demanded of the government to give schedule of the next general elections otherwise he would announce date for second long march on Islamabad in 6 days. Since ending the first long march on May 26, Imran Khan is on the retreat from his declared strategy. He is changing his line of action on almost every second day. First , Imran Khan seemed composed and confident to add pressure obviously on the coalition government but actually on the establishment to force them to accept his demand and call fresh elections in the country. He was pretty confident that he can win majority vote in next elections and come back in power with more majority , but after the Islamabad march, PTI chief seemed confused . His body language has changed . He looks direction-less and worried .
From his body language and speeches in public rallies (post long march days) , it seemed clearly he has strongly realised that his strategy of collision with establishment and make it subservient has not worked in his interest . He probably intends to change his political course from collision to inclusion but his going far on many issues and time and again crossing the red line is making it difficult to happen . His reluctance from announcing date for next long march is indicative of his retreat .
The core committee also reiterated its previous decision barring the party members national assembly (MNA) from appearing before the speaker for verification of their resignations .The meeting also okayed a strategy to be implemented for protest in case the government arrests Imran Khan. Many participants of the core committee including Shah Mahmood Qureshi
Shaikh Rashid Ahmad , Asad Qaisar , Shahbaz Gill and Murad Saeed , threatened the government of severe backlash in case it arrested PTI chairman.
