LAHORE : An accountability court in Lahore has granted bail to prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, and chief minister , Hamza Shahbaz , in money laundering case .
Mr Ejaz Awan, the judge of the accountability court, announced the verdict in the case on Saturday . The court had reserved the judgment in the case a few days ago.
Both prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz , were on interim bail in money laundering case . The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore was pursuing the case of money laundering against Mr Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz for the last three years.
The case of money laundering is under trial against Sharif’s for three years . Its two main characters , FIA Lahore director, Dr Rizwan , and Maqsood Chuprasi whose account was allegedly used by the accused ,have died in recent weeks .
After coming in power in April last , Sharifs had transferred several senior FIA officials that had irked the Islamabad High Court (IHC ) and it sought report from the director general FIA on transfers / postings of his officals who were investigating high profile case including money laundering case against Me Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz
