Afghan-Pakistan rift deepens amidst diplomatic deadlock

Afghanistan has seen a surge in its relationship with India, prompting concern in neighboring Pakistan. Following Pakistan’s expulsion of Afghan refugees, many Afghan businessmen have relocated their factories to India, while the Indian government has been swift in granting visas to Afghans for medical treatment. Consequently, As a result, the flow of Afghan patients to private clinics in Peshawar has drastically reduced. India’s support for Afghanistan has extended beyond humanitarian aid, as it has provided substantial funds to the Afghan Taliban, strengthening ties between the two nations.This burgeoning alliance between India and Afghanistan has raised alarm bells in Pakistan, particularly as the Afghan government openly criticizes Pakistani attacks. Efforts by Pakistani delegations sent to Afghanistan have failed to yield results, highlighting the ongoing challenges in achieving peace amidst the conflict. Meanwhile, Afghanistan is considering implementing visa-free entry for Indian citizens, reciprocated by India for Afghans, in a bid to further enhance bilateral relations. Afghanistan’s diminishing dependency on Pakistan is underscored by its growing support from key global players such as the US, China, Turkey, Russia, and Qatar. Additionally, the Afghan Taliban’s leaders have been engaging in frequent visits to China, Turkey and other developed nations, indicating a shift in perspective as they assess their losses in the war compared to progress made elsewhere.
