LAHORE : March 28,2023: All Pakistan Lawyer Pharmacists Association (APLPA) , Noor Mahar , called on Governor Punjab , Baligur Rehman, here on Tuesday.
Mr Noor Mahar, who is a healthy voice in pharma industry, briefed the Governor about drug availability in the market . He informed the Governor that pharma industry is facing shut down due to letter of credits (LCs) restrictions as its unable to import raw material to manufacturer life saving drugs. Mr Noor Mahar added that the patients and their families are passing through a painful time as hundreds of life saving drugs are non-existent in the market . The Governor was also informed that more than 140 pharma industries have closed down as a result of non-availability of raw material and many more may find the same fate if restrictions on LCs on imports of raw material for pharma industry were not lifted.
Mr Noor Mahar requested to the Governor to use his good office to order the federal government and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to allow pharma industry import raw material to manufacturer life saving drugs.
Mr Noor Mahar also demanded of the Governor to help implement the policy of appointing a pharmacist at each drug store. He also demanded appointment of pharmacists at public and private hospitals.
