Asiya Azeem Chaudhary becomes MNA for second time

ISLAMABAD : August 17,2022. Asiya Azeem Chaudhary has become a member national assembly as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued a formal notification to this effect here on Wednesday

Asiya Azeem Chaudhary, spouse of Azeem Chaudhary , a senior journalist, has become a member of national assembly for the second time .

Mrs Azeem had become the member of national assembly on women seat as nominee of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) in 2000. She contributed valuably in proceedings of the national assembly and played a role in law making as representative of the people of Pakistan

She has again become a member of the national assembly now against women reserved seat as nominee of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) .

Mrs Azeem qualified as MNA against women reserved seat as nominee of PTI after acceptance of resignations by the speaker of two PTI female members and nine male members .

The speaker national assembly had accepted resignations of 11 PTI MNAs last month including two women –Shireen Mizari and Shandana Gulzar–.

Acceptance of resignations of two female pTI MNAs paved way for Asiya Azeem’s entry into parliament as a member of national assembly again.
