Champions trophy; opening ceremony will be held in Lahore on February 16

Rawalpindi : The possible schedule for the opening ceremony of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has prepared the schedule for the opening ceremonies of the Champions Trophy, the first match of the event will be held in Karachi, but it has been decided to hold the opening ceremony in Lahore.

The opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy will be held on February 16 at Huzuri Bagh, Lahore, but before that, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will inaugurate the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on February 7 and the opening ceremony of the National Stadium Karachi will be held on February 11. President Asif Ali Zardari is also expected to attend the opening ceremony at the National Stadium Karachi on February 11.
In addition, important personalities of the country, cricketers and ICC officials will participate in the ceremony to be held in Huzuri Bagh, Lahore.

There is a possibility that the captains’ joint press conference will not be held before the Champions Trophy.
After the ICC ODI World Cup 1996 and the 2008 Asia Cup, Pakistan will host a major ICC event for the first time in a while in the form of the Champions Trophy 2025.

The opening match of the Champions Trophy will be between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand, while the biggest Pak-India match of the event will be played at a neutral venue on February 23.
The first semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025 will be played at a neutral venue on March 4, while the second semi-final will be played in Lahore on March 5.

The ICC, while officially announcing that all the events of the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan from 2025 to 2027 will be held under a hybrid model, had said that the 2028 Women’s T20 World Cup will also be held in Pakistan under a hybrid model.
