Chinese Premier Li Qiang Arrives in Pakistan, Emphasizes Strategic Partnership

ISLAMABAD, October 14,2024: Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Pakistan for a four-day visit, during which he emphasized the country’s role as a key developing nation, an emerging market, and a significant Muslim country.

 

He reaffirmed China’s commitment as Pakistan’s “all-weather strategic cooperative partner and an ironclad friend.”

 

In his statement following his arrival, Premier Li conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Pakistani government and its people.

He noted that while China is advancing comprehensive reforms and modernization, Pakistan is equally dedicated to its development efforts.

 

Premier Li’s visit, taking place from October 14 to 17 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was officially confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

He expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality he received, stating, As soon as I stepped off the plane, I was greeted with the warm hospitality of the Pakistani side, he said

 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Premier Li on social media, expressing his delight at the visit. He stated, “I look forward to a historic and productive visit that will further strengthen and deepen our friendship.”

 

Sharif indicated that discussions would focus on reviewing progress on existing initiatives, particularly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and exploring new avenues for cooperation.

 

He highlighted that the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership is essential for regional stability and prosperity.

 

The Foreign Office announced that both leaders will lead their respective delegations to discuss various aspects of Pakistan-China relations, including economic and trade ties, and cooperation under CPEC.
