Islamabad: This November, in Baku, Azerbaijan, Pakistan will showcase its top climate-focused startups at the COP29 climate summit.
The campaign seeks to showcase creative concepts aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainable solutions.
Additionally, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) opened a cutting-edge Green-Tech Hub (G-TH) on its campus in Islamabad.
This facility intends to aid the country’s shift to sustainable energy by advancing eco-friendly inventions, renewable energy sources, and green technologies. To develop and expand green projects, the hub will serve as a collaborative platform for industry leaders and young entrepreneurs.
At the G-TH launch, Salaal Hassan, CEO of Ignite, a company that invests in IT ventures, said that his company would choose ten promising startups from the energy, agritech, and allied industries to attend COP29.

“We are encouraging young innovators to prioritize climate solutions by providing additional support for job creation and fundraising for three of these startups,” Hassan added.
Pakistan’s environmental problems were highlighted by Aisha Humera, the secretary of the Ministry of Climate Change, who also spoke at the event. The economic and social effects of climate change have been devastating even though the nation generates less than 1% of global carbon emissions, she stated.
Humera said, “This Green-Tech Hub provides a dedicated space for young innovators to market green solutions and engage with industry, addressing climate challenges head-on.”
Representatives from the world are anticipated to attend COP29 to discuss adaptation strategies and the effects of climate change, with Pakistan’s showcase intending to establish the country as a proactive player in the battle against it.
