Khushab :It is a matter of great pleasure and satisfaction that Deputy Commissioner Khushab Ms. Farvah Aamir is spearheading the much-needed developmental initiatives in District Khushab regarding clean drinking water, maintenance of parks, green belts, and sewerage system. As a result, the following transformative initiatives are being undertaken for the welfare of the people of District Khushab:
DC Khushab identified the critical issue of clean drinking water in the district and actively pursued its resolution at relevant forums. Through these efforts, restoration work of five existing filtration plants has already been completed. In addition, approval for 211 new water filtration plants at each village level has been secured, ensuring clean drinking water facilities across district Khushab.
For the first time in Punjab, a pilot project for the installation of a bottling plant in District Khushab is being undertaken which will provide clean drinking water free of cost and will benefit senior citizens, differently-abled persons, and those unable to access water filtration plants directly.
Management of parks, green belts, and public spaces was a longstanding challenge due to limited resources and lack of trained manpower. Deputy Commissioner Khushab successfully obtained approval for the establishment of Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) in District Khushab. This will ensure proper maintenance and sustainable management of green spaces across the district.
Open drain system in Khushab was a huge challenge regarding maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene in the city. Deputy Commissioner Khushab efforts have borne fruit and MC Khushab will have an underground sewerage system laid for the first time ever, which will be a huge relief for the citizens of Khushab city.
DC Khushab Farvah Aamir accelerated flood prevention projects across the district which has greatly helped to protect urban areas from seasonal vulnerabilities. All relevant departments completed the cleaning, repair, and reconstruction of Nullah Shiwala, along with seasonal drains and sewerage lines. Alhamdulillah the timely completion of these works prevented urban flooding in this heavy monsoon season thus avoided a repeat of past flood-like situations in Khushab.
Simultaneously, the district has witnessed a major crackdown on illegal encroachments under the leadership of Ms.Farvah Aamir. The anti-encroachment operations by PERA Khushab have resulted in the removal of hundreds of unauthorized structures, including ramps and platforms that had taken over pedestrian pathways, nallahs and public spaces. The initiative has not only eased traffic congestion but also restored sewerage passageways for the city’s residents.
