Dhaka; Pakistan’s Mir Hamza Kasi wins gold in South Asian karate championship

Dhaka/ Islamabad: Pakistan’s athletes created history in the 10th South Asian Karate Championship held in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. WAPDA athletes representing Pakistan in the 5-day world championship won a total of 6 medals, including 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals. During the championship,

Pakistan’s Mir Hamza Kasi won the gold medal for the country in the Under-21 category, demonstrating excellent technique. He also won a double victory in the senior 75 kg category of the same event by winning a bronze medal after a tough competition. Mir Wais Khan’s silver medal

 

In the men’s 61 kg competition, WAPDA’s Mir Wais Khan reached the final by beating his rivals and won a silver medal for the country. In the women’s various weight categories: Hafiza Iqra Munawar won a bronze medal for her outstanding performance in the 45 kg category. Rabia Farooq won a bronze medal in the 50 kg category.

Laiba Zia won a bronze medal by defeating her opponent in the 55 kg category. The WAPDA Sports Board congratulated all the players on this memorable and historic achievement in the South Asian Championship. Board officials say that WAPDA players have once again proven that they have the full potential to raise the flag of Pakistan at the global level.
