Overcome by the feeling of despair and helplessness in the wake of the world’s failure to prevent the genocide in Palestine that crossed over casualties of the unarmed 30, 000 civilian casualties that my thoughts honed on the history and how divine death with barbarism in its own mysterious ways.
Roman was an empire that downfall of which was professed by the Holy Prophet in his lifetime despite the Romans to have the world’s first organised army more well regimented than the US army today yet it bit the dust and its glory vanished because of its being unjust while Islam as a religion of peace that promoted and harmony amongst various faiths survived and prospered over the centuries.
In the early days of the Roman Empire , only tax-paying, property-owning citizens able to afford their own weapons and armor were permitted to serve in the army. This meant, of course, that the military success of the state depended principally upon the military service of the rich and the wealthy — men who were able to afford the best weapons and best armor. And only the very well who could afford to be in the cavalry, which required not only armor and weapons but a war horse as well, and the expenses attendant to keeping one.
Around 400 B.C. Rome began to pay its soldiers, to help cover their daily expenses while in service, but the men were still required to provide weapons and armor at their own expense.
Finally, in 107 B.C. Gaius Marius introduced reforms that created a professional standing Roman army, greatly strengthening it and fueling Roman expansion. Equipment and arms were standardized and service was opened to all classes of society, with the state providing all arms and supplies. Poor, landless men, who had never before been allowed to serve in the army, joined in large numbers after the introduction of the Marian Reforms, and Rome’s professional, well-trained, well-provisioned, and well-disciplined military became the most effective the world had ever known yet its cruelty and barbarian towards humanity resulted into their downfall.
Today we see history being repeated in Palestine it is now a question of time when the world would ever remember an illegitimate state known as Israel and its backers the now so – called super power of the world and its most well equipped and well paid armies ever existed.
