Efforts for amicable solution to political crisis fail

Opposition refuses to trust PM , goes for no confidence

ISLAMABAD : After failure of last ditch efforts to find an amicable solution to the on-going political crisis in Pakistan , prime minister, Imran Khan , is putting together his multipronged strategy to save his government . He, on one hand , has asked those provincial governments where Pakistan Tehreek. e Insaf (PTI,) is in power like Punjab , Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) and Azad Jummu Kashmir to generate public opinion against those parties which are spearheading no confidence motion in the national assembly against him . On the other, he is working with close political aides and cabinet members like Asad Umar , Fawad Chaudhary , Shaikh Rashid Ahmad , Faisal Javed etc to finalize a strategy to get maximum diehard party workers in Islamabad on the voting day (Sunday) to give a final and decisive push and resist the efforts being made to oust him from power through no confidence.
Sources privy to latest political development told NEWSMAN requesting not to be named in the story that Imran Khan had conveyed to the real power brokers that he was ready to dissolve the national assembly to pave way for mid term elections in the country provided the grand opposition takes back its no confidence motion tabled in the national assembly . These sources claim that repeated delays in scheduled prime minister , Imran Khan’s address to the nation on Thursday last were in the same context .
Sources added that the real power brokers conveyed the message of the prime minister to top opposition leadership , which after threadbare mutual discussion, conveyed to the ‘messengers’ that they can not trust Imran Khan and hence were not in any case ready to take back tabled no confidence motion. The opposition conveyed to the messengers that it would go for final outcome of the no confidence motion fixed for voting on April 3, 2022.
On the basis of the same development, the opposition, which is confident of success of its no confidence motion, had claimed in the media on Thursday that prime minister , Imran Khan, was pleading for an NRO, which has.been denied . With each passing moment , Imran Khan, is getting closer to a possible defeat through vote in the national assembly .
None of his tricks including threatening letter and reports of his possible assassination attempt ( God forbid) are working in his favour . The opposition firmly believes Imran Khan was presenting multiple ‘hybrid’ excuses to avert looming, but evident result of the no confidence motion.
Now question arises would Imran Khan be able to block voting on no confidence motion through public pressure as he is calling one lakh patty workers to Islamabad on the eve of voting on no motion or he, like other many tactics , lose ground in the national assembly on Sunday and bow out of power .
One thing is for sure , Imran Khan’s style of politics may not give him and his party any benefit in the longer run.
