ISLAMABAD: ‘Mohsin e Pakistan’ Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, also known as father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb, passed away here on Sunday.
Dr Qadeer Khan had an incredible role in making Pakistan a nuclear state that practically made Pakistan’s defence impregnible.
The news of Dr Adbul Qadeer Khan’s demice shocked the entire Pakistani nation. The people of Pakistan took the news of demice of Dr Abdul Qadir Khan with utter grief and sorrow.
Dr Adbul Qadeer was hospitalised for the last one and half months due to ailment. He had respiratory problems for years. Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was 85. He was born on April 1, 1936. His family made an announcement in Islamabad, confirming his death in the morning on October 10, 2021.
The funeral of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was offered at Faisal mosque in Islamabad. A large number of parliamentarians , politicians, army officers and his lovers turned to attend funeral of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. He was buried in a graveyard in Islamabad.
President Dr Arif Alvi , prime minister Imran Khan, opposition leader, Shahbaz Sharif, PPP chairman Balawal Bhutto, PMLN vice president, Maryan Nawaz, Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, federal ministers, parliamemtarians paid rich tribute to Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and called his demice as a great national loss.
Dr Qadeer Khan was given state funeral. Pakistan’s national flag remained half- mast on demice of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.
