.Peshawar – Cleanliness in government offices is often overlooked, but when a senior officer himself takes charge of cleaning, it sends a powerful message to the staff. In an inspiring move, Director of FIA Peshawar Zone, Inam Ullah Khan Gandapur, personally picked up a broom and cleaned a section of the office to emphasize the importance of cleanliness. His decision came after noticing a lack of concern among staff regarding hygiene and overall office maintenance.
Most staff members show little interest in cleanliness and have a careless attitude. To set a positive example, I took a broom from our sanitation worker and cleaned a small portion of the FIA Zonal Office in Peshawar myself. I hope this changes mindsets to some extent and reinforces the idea that Cleanliness is half of faith, said Inam Ullah Gandapur.
His unexpected action left many staff members surprised, while some felt encouraged to follow his lead. This initiative sparked discussions about whether similar steps should be taken in other government offices to promote discipline and responsibility.
This is not the first time Gandapur has taken an unconventional approach to improving office culture. He has previously introduced several reforms to instill a sense of responsibility and discipline among his team. Such initiatives not only set a positive precedent but also help improve the overall image of government institutions. If similar responsibility and commitment are shown across all departments, it could lead to a significant transformation in workplace environments.
