ISLAMABAD: Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan was basically sacked as special assistant to chief minister Punjab for, what sources close to Sardar Usman Buzdar claim privately, her poor performance .
“She (Firdous Ashiq Awan) was not properly and forcefully responding to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) media team as spokesperson of Punjab government and for the same chief minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar, was not happy with her performance”, a credible source told NEWSMAN.
Her uninvited aggressive behaviour made her dismissal as SACM on Information guaranteed.
According to the sources, Firdous Ashiq Awan was called by the chief minister to Chief Minister House last week to convey the decision of her removal and it was followed by her resignation from the post there and then.
Firdous Ashiq Awan had resigned as SACM on Information last week. After resignation, she gave an impression in the media that she had resigned from the post to take full-fledge part in the on-going by-election campaign of PP -38 Sialkot.
Firdous Ashiq Awan had reacted at two events unwanted and uncalled for. First, she had uninvited verbal assault on a senior civil servant publically in Sialkot during holy month of Ramdhan that sent a severe wave of shock to the civil servants in particular and public of this country at large.
Encourged by this first event, she ran on a PPP senator by slapping him in a TV show.
These two aggressive incidents brought bad name to the ruling party and set a stage for unceremonial exit of Firdous Ashiq Awan from Punjab as SACM
Earlier, Firdious Ashiq Awan was sacked as SAPM on Information on serious corrption charges, but she managed to get an important position in Punjab with a gap of a few months
Fiaz Chohan is likely replacement of Dr Ashiq Firdous Awan as special assistant to chief minister for Information.
Interestingly, Firdous Ashiq Awan had replaced Fiaz Chohan from the same position last year.
