ISLAMABAD : May 31,2023: The government has cut down the prices of petroleum products for next fortnight (June 1-15).
Finance minister , Ishaq Dar, announced reduction in the rates of petroleum products in his televised press briefing at around 11.15 PM on Wednesday .
Announcing the reduction in the rates of the petroleum products , Finance minister said the government is adhering to a policy of whatever relief is possible for the people in the present scenario. He said following the same policy the government has decided to cut down the prices of light speed diesel (LSD) and high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 5 a litre . He also added that petrol prices have been cut by Rs 8 and the new rates of petrol has been fixed at Rs 8 a litre.
He said the government had reduced the petrol prices by Rs 12 and HSD by Rs 30 a litre for the outgoing fortnight and keeping in view the problems of the masses now it is passing on benefit to the people by further reducing the prices of the petroleum products for next 15 days .
The minister said the new prices will become effective from mid night on Thursday .
The government has not made any reduction in the rates of kerosin oil and its price per litre will stay at Rs 164.07.
