This picture was taken Monday 23rd January 2023, at 11. AM at the Jinnah International Airport that won my praises for the Airport Security Force (ASF) officer, detailed on the scanning with his hawk – eyed observation that can go a long way to timely pre-empt any hijacking attempt.
No travel is safe especially in a country like Pakistan, where security is a major issue whether road or air . Nevertheless, air is of a particular importance having international ramifications that adversely affects the image of the country.
Moreover, hijacking of a PIA aircraft from Karachi in the 80s and Pan America Airlines makes this particular airport extremely vulnerable. I would here not forget to mention the brave Indian Air Hostess aboard the Pan America hijacked aircraft at Karachi, who fearlessly opened the door latch for the SSG to storm in and in the resultant melee was shot dead by the hijackers’ fire. Here heroism then had won my heart to have lost her own life winning freedom for others.
Travelling by PK flight 368 from Karachi to Islamabad brought me in contact with professionalism of this particular ASF officer detailed at the scanning, who had an eye to detect my Swiss Officer Vintronix Knife in my hand baggage. I never asked for his name, but took of him a quick snap shot to be shared publicly with a hope that his professionalism is appreciated on this island surrounded by the sea of incompetence and corruption.
It,therefore, makes mandatory for us as a society, to at least acknowledge the good whenever we see them around , while we already remain quite generous at picking on others with utter disregard to follow the law for own own safety and security of others. Well Done ASF For Your Vigilance.
