KARACHI. Torrential rains have literally wrecked Karachi, turning the whole city into a pond rather a river. The people seemed totally helpless as rainy waters rather than finding any drainage system to rush out and fall into nullahs and finally into the sea gushed onto their houses , shops and every where in rhe city.
In some areas , rain waters caused loss of human lives and damage of property and valuables . A cording to official statistics , 9 people were killed in different areas in rains .

Met Department is predicting more heavy rains in Karachi and other parts of Sindh.

In majority areas of the city, roads turned into streams where the cars , motorbikes and other transports got stuck , making movement of the people impossible .

Karachi is hub of commercial activities and it’s truly tagged as a economic capital of Pakistan as it contributes more than half of total businesses and industrial output of Pakistan.

One can say without any doubt that Karachi is financial jugular vein of Pakistan . But when it comes to the facility and development of this mega city of Pakistan , situation is extremely pathetic.

You find dilapidated roads, buildings and other main infrastructure of this largest city of Pakistan.

Karachi hosts more than 30 million people and its rightly called as mother city as it gives jobs, provides conducive atmosphere to start up new business and industries, are in such a a bad shape that it off and on turns into a death trap for its citizen.

For years , Karachi lacks proper sanitation system with no electricity for half time of a day and no drainage system in place to stream out rains waters from the roads, shops and houses of the karachties .

Sindh chief minister , Murad Ali Shah, visited those areas which are hit badly by the rains. Talking to the media in rain affected area , Murad Ali Shah said Karachi as a whole and other cities of Sindh are in the grip of unprecedented rains . He said the government machinery was struggling hard to stream out rainy waters and cleanse the Karachi city as soon as possible .
