Islamabad : Petroleum product rates have been readjusted by the government . High speed diesel (HSD) rates have been increased by Rs 11.30 per liter. This is a massive increase in the prices of HSD in recent weeks. With the new increase , HSD rates have gone up to Rs 268.38 per liter.
The increase in HSD may result in surge in transport fares in the country as 90 % public transport operates on diesel in Pakistan. In such a case , the people who are already under inflation will be facing more financial difficulties.
Despite massive increase in HSD rates , the prices of petrol have been kept unchanged. The rates of petrol will remain unchanged at Rs 253.17 per liter.
The new prices of petroleum products will remain effective till February 15,2026.
The Energy ministry issued notification of the new petroleum product prices.
