India bows out: Pakistan remains defeatless in group 2

Shoab Malik makes history

LAHORE: Pakistan was at its best on Sunday against comparatively new team Scotland. Pakistan won the toss at Sharjah Stadium and chose to bat first. It wanted to make maximum score to defeat Scotland with big margin and its strategy worked well. Pakistan manage to make a total of 189 runs in limited 20 overs. Pakistan’s pace of runs initially was slow, but in the last 10 overs it managed to accelerate score to take total to 189. Particularly, Shoab Malik played a firey game. He hit 6 sixes to take his individual score to 54 not out of 18 balls. He made a record of making fastest 50 in T20 matches. His stormy batting helped Pakistan to take total to a winning position of 189 runs.
With defeating Scotland in its final and 5th match, Pakistan topped its group B with 10 points.
In a second match, New Zealand smashed Afghanistan to berth its seat in semi final with 8 points in credit.
With defeat of Afghanistan, India’s last hope to cling on to T20 championship 2021 came to an end. India has only 4 points . It has gone out of T20 championship.

Pakistan remained defeatless in its group by winning all 5 matches. It had defeated India in the very first game. Its for the first time in the history of T20 championship that India could not qualify for semi final. Pakistan would have loved to face India in final.
Now Pakistan will face Australia and New Zealand to England in semi final. First semi final will be played between England and New Zealand on November 10 at Sharja Cricket Stadium and on very next day, Pakistan will take on Australia on November 11 at Dubai Cricket Stadium. Final to be played between winners of semi finals on November 14, 2021.
