ISLAMABAD October 3,2024: Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to arrive in Pakistan today (Tuesday) evening for a brief visit.
The visit is primarily aimed at attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
During his 24-hour stay, Jaishankar is expected to engage in key diplomatic talks with top Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
These discussions are anticipated to focus on regional cooperation and other matters within the SCO framework.
Indian media also suggests that Jaishankar may attend a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Sharif in honor of the summit’s dignitaries.
The visit marks a rare diplomatic engagement between India and Pakistan, with relations between the two neighboring countries having been strained in recent years.
