Karachi: Pakistan People Party ( PPP) senior leader and member national assembly , Shazia Atta Mari, has said women international day is an acknowlegement of women achievements in different sectors and their contribution in making our society progressive . She expressed these views in her address to an event organised at Karachi press club organised here on Monday on the day of international women day celeberated on March 8, 2021.
Shazia Mari said today women are out in each field of life to express their capabilities and reaffirm their commitment to play constructive role in making the society progressive in real terms.
She appreciated Karachi press club for holding an event in honour of Balqis Edhi on the international women day. She said Balqis Edhi did wonderful job with her spouse , Abdul Sittar Edhi ( late), by dedicating her life for social work
PPP leader also acknowleged contribution of many Pakistani women like Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Rana Liaqat Ali
Khan, Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan’s nation building and said these great Pakistani women are a role model for Pakistani women.
She said March 8 is a proof that women have made great achievement in recent years, but they still have to go a long way to make their achievements result oriented.
