Iran reaffirm participation in Islamabad talks

PM Shahbaz , Iran's president Dr Masood discuss post ceasefire situation

Islamabad : Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , on Wednesday posted on his social media account X that he had a warm and substantive conversation with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran, this afternoon.

The premier added he conveyed my deep appreciation for the wisdom and sagacity of the Iranian leadership in accepting Pakistan’s offer to host peace talks in Islamabad later this week to work jointly for the return of peace to the region.

During telephonic conversation with the prime minister , President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming negotiations and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts, while conveying his best wishes for the people of Pakistan.

Mr Shahbaz Sharif noted that Pakistan remains committed to working closely with all its friends and partners to advance peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Iran and US had agreed to a 2-week ceasefire in ME last night and now both parties are going to have talks in Islamabad on April 10 to reach to a long term agreement for permanent peace in the Middle East.

Pakistan has brokered the deal between Iran and US setting new standards for its high ranking diplomacy.
