Islamabad: Pakistan has declared a staff member of Indian High Commission in Islamabad as persona non-grata and ordered to leave Pakistan within 24 hours.
Pakistan’s action of expelling Indian staff member of Indian High Commission has come as a tit-for-tat policy against New Dehli.
A day earlier , India had expelled a Pakistani diplomat from its country and asked him to leave its country in 24 hours. India and Pakistan are expelling each other’s diplomats in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack. Both countries had also engaged in a war early this month on the same reason.
A Pakistan ‘s Foreign Office issued a statement here on Thursday . It said
“The government of Pakistan has declared a staff member of the High Commission of India, Islamabad, as persona non grata for engaging in activities inconsistent with his privileged status. The concerned official has been directed to leave Pakistan within 24 hours”.
The Indian Chargé d’Affaires was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey this decision. It was stressed that none of the diplomats or staff members of the Indian High Commission should misuse their privileges and status in any manner, the statement said.
