Multan : Jamast Islami (JI) has called- off its long march with a hope that its leaders’ meeting with prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif , will remain fruitful to secure relief in petrol prices for the people of Pakistan who are braving unprecedented inflation. JI chief will resume long march in first week of October if its demands were not met.
JI chief, Hafiz Naeem, on Tuesday announced to call off long march after getting a call from the prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, who is presently in New York to attend the Untied Nations General Assembly (UNGA) . Hafiz Naeem made the announcement to call off long march in Multan during his talk with the media persons. Hafiz Naeem said prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, called him by phone from New York and requested to call- off Ji long march till his return to the country. Hafiz Naeem said JI is not winding up its long march and its protest will continue till getting relief in petrol prices for the people. He said Ji leadership will meet prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, on his return and present him its demand to cut petroleum levy on petroleum products to give relief to the price-hike hit people of Pakistan.
JI is struggling to secure some relief in petrol prices for the commuters for months. It wants an end to free petrol to the government officials and other privileged class of the society. Hafiz Naeem and Ji leadership is committed to carryout their struggle to get relief in petrol for those who are making it hard to survive rising prices of the petroleum products.
