ISLAMABAD; There seems no end to life saving drugs prices upward jacking.
The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has formally issued notification for the increase in life saving drugs prices up to 35 percent.
The DRAP had revised upward life saving.drugs prices up to 510 percent just less than a month ago.
The latest increase in drugs prices was notified by DRAP on October 5,2020 , but it was not announced to probably avoid public reaction.
This is 9th increase in life saving drugs prices during two years rule of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Interestingly, it’s federal cabinet which is repeatedly granting approval for the .increase in the life saving drugs prices.
It’s unbelievable as to why prime minister, Imran Khan, is not asking for the reason of the repeated increase in the prices of drugs when its summeries are presented to the cabinet for approval.
The patients in this country are at total loss as they, in majority of cases, can not buy drugs prescribed by physicians due to higher prices.
The people of this country are already moaning under huge price-hike and in this situation repeated upward jacking up of life saving drugs has put them in complete wilderness.
Unprecedented price-hike and repeated upward revision in drugs prices have made the public life miserable.
The DRAP pattern for time and again upward revision in the drugs prices suggests it is the mafia which rules the DRAP.
The pharmaceutical firms seem at liberty to get approval of their desired prices of medicines at will.
There seems no one in the ministry of Health to stop these mafias operating in DRAP and question repeated increase in the drugs prices.
Mahar Noor, founder young pharmacists association of Pakistan, strongly condemns recent increase in drugs prices.
Noor called the jacking up of the drugs prices unjustified and demanded its reversal.
“We from the forum of Pakistan Drug Lawyers also call the recent increase in drugs prices totally uncalled for.and demand of.the government to take it.back immediately”, Mahar Noor noted.
Mahar Noor is the o my voice in this country, which is resisting the mafia involved in drugs prices increase.
