Maulana Adil Khan shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI: Prominent religious  leader , Maulana Adil Khan, was shot dead in Karachi on October 10, 2020  in an act of sheer terrorism meant to fuel sectarianism in Pakistan.
Maulana Adil Khan was going to Madrasa  Farooqia in Karachi when unidentified gunmen sprayed bullets on his car, killing him along with his driver.
Maulana Adil Khan’s killing is a major set back to Pakistan’s efforts launched to provide security to all prominent religious scholars in the wake of Intellegence reports hinting at Indian plot to target religious scholars to fire up sectarian violence in Pakistan.
Condemning the killing of Maulana Adil Khan, prime minister, Imran Khan, raised doubt of Indian involvement in the incident.
The prime minister in his tweet issued on Saturday said India plotted to kill religious scholars in Pakistan to initiate sectarianism in Pakistan.
He claimed Pakistan’s security departments have foiled many such plots of killing religious clerics in recent months.
Nasir Shah ,.provincial information minister of Sindh, condemned killing of Maulana Adil Khan and termed this act of terrorism a planned act of Pakistan’s enemies for creating chaos in the country.
Mauala Tahir Ashrafi said  killing of Maulana Adil Khan was an act of terrorism. He questioned why Maulana Adil was not provided security.
MQM central leader, Faisal Subzwari also condemned killing of Maulana Adil Khan and demanded arrest of those who were involved in this heinous crime.
Maulana Taqi Usmani called killing of Maulana Adil Khan as a big loss of Pakistan and demanded arrest of the culprits.
