MBC Hope launches first agricultural initiative in Saudi Arabia with planting of 400 trees in Al-Tilal national park

Riyadh( Saudi Arabia) : MBC Hope, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of MBC Group, has launched its first agricultural initiative in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification. The initiative supports national afforestation efforts and aims to enhance the local ecosystem through the planting of indigenous tree species.

Held at Al-Tilal National Park in Al-Baha Province, the event brought together six associations and government entities, along with local youth-led initiatives. A total of 400 trees—including juniper, sidr, and tamarisk—were planted during the event.

Commenting on the launch, Bassam Al-Buraikan, General Manager of Corporate Communications, Public Relations, and CSR at MBC Group, stated:
“For our very first agricultural initiative in the Kingdom, we were keen to be present on the ground, directly supporting the stability of the local ecosystem by planting native tree species. As a media organization, our broader goal is to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving vegetation cover.”

Al-Buraikan extended his gratitude to all supporters of the initiative, especially the Emirate of Al-Baha, Al-Baha Green Association, the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification, Baljurashi Agricultural Association, the Saudi Association for Search, Rescue, and Relief, the Volunteer Hiking Team, scouts from Al-Shaham High School, and the many other government bodies, volunteers, and young men and women who took part in planting the trees themselves. Their participation is a testament to the awareness and environmental commitment of Saudi youth.

The initiative witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, with participants working hand-in-hand to plant 400 trees—an effort widely praised for its positive environmental impact and contribution to sustainable development across the Kingdom.
