Islamabad : March 13, 2024: Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) chief minister ,Sardar Amin Gandapur , on Wednesday held his maiden meeting with peime minister Shahbaz Sharif , here . He spoke to media after his meeting with the prime minister and said KPK is the frontline of Pakistan’s war against terrorism and it will be on board with Pakistan ‘s security institutions to fight out this menace for ensuring safety and security to every Pakistani . Sardar Amin Gandapur was accompanied by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader federal minister , Ahsin Iqbal, and Ameer Muqam for the press talk.
Sardar Amin Gandapur said his meeting with the prime minister was extremely positive and it will help KPK get its outstanding funds . KPk chief minister added that he raised the public issues with the prime minister in the meeting and it concluded at an assurance from him for the release of held KPK funds . Sardar Amin Gandapur told one of the reporters that the issue of ban on meeting with PTI founding chief ,Imran Khan , also came under discussion during his meeting with the prime minister .
The chief minister said he is going to meet to PTI founding chairman in Adiala jail to discuss with him post senate elections strategy . He said ” meetings and talks are important to address the issues politically. He said KPK is a part of Pakistan and it wants that its resources should benefit to entire Pakistan. Amin Gandapur said he did not intentionally stay away from Peshawar to avoid reception to the prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , when he visited there last week. He said ” I was not in Peshawar when prime minister visited there last week “.
In response to a volley of questions , Sardar Amin Gandapur said PTI letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was not aimed at blocking release of funds to Pakistan , but for recording its demand about the audit of the last election’s results . On the occasion , PMLN leader and federal minister , Ahsin Iqbal , said KPK chief minister ‘s meeting with the prime minister is a positive development and it will help federating units of Pakistan to function smoothly. He said the prime minister assured KPK chief minister to release outstanding funds to the province on priority basis.
Ameer Muqam said KPK chief minister ‘s meeting with the prime minister is a good development and it is in the national interest. He said PMLN will play a role of positive opposition in the KPK assembly.
