ISLAMABAD, October 30, 2024: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered an investigation into an attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa that occurred in London.
Condemning the incident, Naqvi described the attack on Isa’s vehicle and the Pakistani High Commission as “highly condemnable.”
In his directives, the minister instructed NADRA officials to analyze video footage to identify the assailants.
He confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) would be filed against those responsible in Pakistan, and measures would be taken to block their CNICs and passports.
The attack followed a protest by workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during a ceremony honoring Isa, where they criticized his judicial conduct, arguing that he was unfit for his role as a bencher at the prestigious Middle Temple.
In a previous address, Qazi Faez Isa acknowledged that while he may have made mistakes, “Allah knows the truth.” He expressed gratitude to his staff, including his guard Fayyaz and the registrar, for their support throughout his tenure.
