Peshawar — The Nowshera Police has issued its monthly performance report for May 2025, showcasing significant progress in cracking down on criminal elements across the district. The operations were carried out under the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Rasheed and under the direct supervision of SDPOs — Muqaddam Khan (Cantonment Circle), Naseem Khan (Risalpur Circle), Adnan Azam (Pabbi Circle), and Jawad Khan (Akora Khattak Circle).
Crackdown on Proclaimed Offenders and Illegal Weapons
In an aggressive campaign to curb serious crimes, the district police arrested 229 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes including murder and attempted murder. During the operations, the police recovered a large cache of illegal weapons including:
16 Kalashnikov rifles
337 pistols
16 shotguns
Thousands of rounds of assorted ammunition
Anti-Narcotics Drive
Continuing their zero-tolerance policy against drug dealers, the Nowshera police arrested 292 drug peddlers in multiple raids across the district. The seized narcotics include:
497 kilograms and 762 grams of cannabis (charas)
46 kilograms and 526 grams of crystal meth (ice)
6 kilograms and 473 grams of heroin
13 bottles of alcohol
Action Against Illegal Residents and Aerial Firing
Strict enforcement of the Tenancy Act led to the arrest of 102 individuals residing illegally without proper documentation. In separate actions, 26 individuals were arrested for aerial firing, a practice often linked to public disturbances and celebratory gunfire.

In his official statement, DPO Abdul Rasheed reiterated the police department’s commitment to protecting society from criminal elements. He emphasized that the Nowshera Police would not tolerate activities that jeopardize the future of the youth and the peace of the community.
> “The police will continue to take uncompromising action against those who disrupt social harmony, especially drug dealers who are destroying the lives of our youth. Our resolve to bring them to justice remains unwavering,” said the DPO. The Nowshera Police affirmed that indiscriminate operations against all types of criminal activity will continue with full force in the coming months.
