Lahore : April 8,2024: Pakistan cricket team for T20 series against New Zealand will be announced today.
In Islamabad, the national selection committee met the national cricketers and took them into confidence regarding the selection policy.
The national selection committee met the cricketers participating in the Kakul physical training camp at a local hotel in Islamabad. 28 players participated in the meeting.
Muhammad Rizwan left for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah on Sunday night.
The players were taken into confidence about the rotation policy and giving opportunities to new players. Selection committee selectors Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Yusuf, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, Bilal Afzal Hasan Cheema and Usman Wahla participated.

The New Zealand team will arrive in Pakistan on April 14 for a five-match T20 series. Pakistan cricket team will also unite in Islamabad on the same night. After the series against New Zealand, the team will visit England and Ireland. The Pakistani team will also participate in the ICCT 20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies this year. Apart from this, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has said that the squad for the series against New Zealand. The announcement will be made today. Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the name of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Usman Khan is being considered for selection and will be part of the national squad. The PCB chairman’s announcement comes at a time when Usman Khan, who made his place in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League, was last week banned by the UAE Cricket Board for breach of contract and playing for Gulf. The cricketer was banned for 5 years for misrepresenting his decision. In addition, Mohsin Naqvi said that the Pakistan squad for the five-match T20 series against New Zealand on April 18 will be announced on April 9. The foreign coaches will be decided by April 14.
It should be noted that coaching matters have been settled with Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie of Pakistan Cricket Board. Gary Kirsten will be the head coach of White Ball while Jason Gillespie will be the head coach of Red Ball, but it has not been officially announced yet.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi also assured that the Champions Trophy 2025 will be hosted by Pakistan. He said that the matter of Indian team coming to Pakistan or not is premature, teams from outside will also come to Pakistan and the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan. Remember that the ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled for February 2025.
It should be noted that the series of 5 T20 matches between Pakistan and New Zealand will start from April 18, the New Zealand cricket team will leave for Pakistan on April 12.
