Islamabad : Jan 17 : Pakistan has given strongest reaction to Iran’s missile attack in Balochistan ‘s Panjgur district . Iran had conducted a surprising and provocative attack on Pakistan at mid night on January 16,2024 . In order to give a clear warning to Iran for its attack on Pakistan’s soverignity. Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Zuhra Mumtaz Baloch , issued the following statement on Wednesday. It said the last night’s unprovoked and blatant breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty by Iran is a violation of international law and the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
This illegal act is completely unacceptable and has no justification whatsoever. Pakistan reserves the right to respond to this illegal act. The responsibility for the consequences will lie squarely with Iran.
We have conveyed this message to the Iranian Government. We have also informed them that Pakistan has decided to recall its ambassador from Iran and that the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan who is currently visiting Iran may not return for the time being. We have also decided to suspend all high level visits which were ongoing or were planned between Pakistan and Iran in coming days.
Pakistan has recalled its ambassador , Mudasar Tipu from Iran and stopped Iranian ambassador to return to Pakistan. Meanwhile , Islamabad has called off all diplomatic engagements and directed Pakistani delegation which is on Iran’s visit to leave that country forthwith and return home.
In a latest development , Iran’s Foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, made a telephone Pakistan’s caretaker Foreign minister , Jalil Abbas Jilani to explain the reasons behind his country’s decision to conduct a missile attack in Panjgur district of Balochistan. According to the Foreign Office, caretaker Foreign Minister condemned Iran’s act to breach Pakistan ‘s soverignity.
In another development , China has asked Iran and Pakistan to show restraints to avoid any further unexpected development on the issue.
