Pakistani students impress Chinese teacher with enthusiastic learning behaviour

LANZHOU, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) — Welcomed by applause from the other end of the network, Wu Wenying sits down in front of her computer preparing to begin her lecture. Unlike her previous classes, her students are from Pakistan this time.

Wu Wenying, teacher with the School of the Finance and Trading of Lanzhou Resources and Environment Vocational and Technical University in northwest China’s Gansu Province, has been sharing online Consumer Behavior course with Pakistani students these days.

“The Pakistani students are very enthusiastic and interested in Chinese business models. I hope the course will be effective and students can be able to learn in marketing. I also teach lots of hands-on knowledge of e-commerce platforms in class, such as how to run business on Alibaba and Amazon platforms, and introduce to them the livestreaming marketing, a prevalent selling way across China,” said Wu, besides her, about 20 colleagues will also participate in the online courses.

According to Zhang Wu, head of the School, recently, the University and Sindh Board of Technical Education of Pakistan signed an agreement about China-Pakistan cross-border e-commerce talent training and international exchange and cooperation. The Chinese part is in charge of developing core curriculum for cross-border e-commerce vocational education and providing e-commerce training courses for students from institutions under the Board.

Zheng Shaozhong, president with the university in Lanzhou, said that, the cooperation will enable Pakistani students to learn about Chinese businesses and improve their self-employment skills through e-commerce platforms as well as strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

In the opinion of Zheng, the Belt and Road countries have seen an increasing demand for high-quality cross-border e-commerce talents with international perspective, including Pakistan. By working together, the University can introduce the latest model of e-commerce operations to them. Besides, their efforts can lay a foundation for more comprehensive international exchange and cooperation between China and Pakistan in the future.

According to Dr. Masroor Ahmed Sheikh, Chairman of the Sindh Board of Technical Education, who delivered a speech on the signing ceremony, the signing marks a deeper cooperation between Pakistan and China in the context of the Belt and Road. They are ready to provide all support to Chinese Technical Institutes in getting Pakistani students prepare in e-commerce and cross-border trade.
