Islamabad : The government has jacked up petrol and diesel prices on the new year by Rs 0.56 and Rs 2.96 per litre . The new prices of petroleum products will remain effective for 15 days . The government issued a notification to this effect exactly at a time when Pakistani nation was celebrating the new year .
There were reports of cut in the petroleum product prices for the current fortnight , but with Pakistani nation took the government decision to increase the prices of petrol and diesel with a surprise.
Meanwhile , Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has slashed LPG prices by Rs 4.01 per kg for the consumer.
