Jeddah : Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia have expressed happiness over the appointment of General Asim Munir as Chief of Defence Staff. The Pakistan Journalists Forum (PJF), a representative body of Pakistani media professionals in Saudi Arabia, welcomed the decision and stated that General Asim Munir, through his dynamic leadership, has earned Pakistan a distinguished reputation across the world.
The Forum added that Asim Munir’s elevation to the rank of Field Marshal, followed by his appointment as Chief of Defence Staff, is a recognition of his services to the country. They also appreciated the decision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, calling it a step toward Pakistan’s strength and progress.
The statement further said that those who live abroad and spread propaganda against Pakistan and its military leadership by taking funds from India and Israel must be brought back to the country and given strict punishment. In this regard, overseas Pakistanis paid tribute to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for taking action against anti-Pakistan YouTubers abroad who are spreading fake news and attempting to create unrest.
PJF members affirmed that they will continue to play a constructive role in strengthening Pakistan, supporting its security, and further enhancing Pakistan–Saudi relations. The Forum also stated that the opposition should put aside its negative demands, support the country’s development, and allow the government to sincerely serve the people until the next elections.
The PJF statement was signed by Chairman Amir Muhammad Khan, President Chaudhry Maroof Hussain, General Secretary Jameel Rathore, and active members Chaudhry Khalid Cheema, Zakeer Bhatti, Muhammad Asad Akram, Maryam Shahid, Kashif Mehr, and others.
