PMLN chief hurls serious allegations on PHC judges

Shahbaz Sharif says PHC judges' relatives are contesting elections in KPK on PTI tickets

Karachi : Dec 28; Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) president , Shahbaz Sharif , told a press conference here on Thursday that Peshawar High Court (PHC) verdict of suspending the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision to take back bat as symbol from Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) is tauntamount to compromise indeprndent of judiciary for favouring a particular political party . He questioned as to how a high court of a province could decide a matter pertaining to the whole of the country.

Shahbaz Sharif said ECP’s decision to take back bat as a symbol from PTI was very much according to the rule of law and its power and PHC overturned its decision to favour PTI unlawfully. He claimed that the relatives of the judges of PHC who gave verdict in the case are contesting general elections in Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) on PTI tickets.

These are serious allegations on the credibility of PHC judges who last week overturned ECP decision of taking bat as symbol from PTI and the man who levelled these allegation is a former prime minister of this country.

Shahbaz Sharif ‘s comments on PHC verdict in PTI bat case is a clear case of his distrust on higher judiciary . He made a point at the presser that PHC judges gave the verdict to give unlawful favour to PTI. Shahbaz Sharif ‘s allegations may get sharp reaction from PHC .

Shahbaz Sharif is on Karachi visit ahead of his lunching of formal campaign to contest general election from the city.

He also recalled as to how his 18-month rule saved Pakistan from imminent default . He said “It would have been catastrophic had Pakistan defaulted in Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rule. He said the people of Pakistan would have put a stone on his grave after death that in the rule of this man Pakistan had defaulted”.

Shahbaz Sharif also targeted Imran Khan and held his rule responsible for Pakistan ‘s current economic meltdown. He claimed that PMLN ,if elected in free and fair elections, will put Pakistan back on the path of progress and prosperity again.
