THATHA: Two pipelines burst out at Debajhi pumping station causing suspension in water supply to many parts of Karachi.
According to Amin Farooqi, NEWSMAN correspondent in Thatha, this time power breakdown caused burst out of pipeline 1 and 2 of Debajhi pumping station and as a result of this damage water supply to many parts of Karachi.
Last week, pipeline no 5 had burst out due to breakdown of electricity.
Debajhi pumping station is one of the major sources of water supply to Karachi city. Any damage to pipeline result in suspension of supply of water to this mega city.
Bursting out of water pipelines of Debajhi pumping is a routine matter. Since its a senative matter, the law enforcing agenies should look into the issue. The local residents doubt that water pipelines of 72 inch dia are sometimes damaged on purpose. These residents claim that maintenance that cost to the national exchequer lakhs of rupee are a source of money-making elements .
This is a serious allegation which need to be investigated to keep the record in order.
