ISLAMABAD, November 24, 2024: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker convoys are moving to Islamabad, with convoys led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi making their way towards the capital.

Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed Bushra Bibi’s presence in the convoy, noting that she is traveling in a separate vehicle but remains firmly with the workers at this crucial time.
Akram further explained that Bushra Bibi expressed her commitment to leading by example, stating that if families are expected to join the protest, Imran Khan’s family would be the first to do so.
She expressed confidence in the success of the protest under Imran Khan’s leadership.
Additional convoys from other regions are expected to join Gandapur’s group in Swabi, after which the combined march will continue towards Islamabad under his leadership.
Ahead of the protests, the government has implemented heightened security measures in the capital.
Key roads leading to Islamabad, where PTI supporters are expected to gather near the parliament, have been blocked with shipping containers, and large numbers of police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed in riot gear.

Mobile phone services have also been suspended across the city, and gatherings of any kind have been banned, as per an official statement from the Islamabad police.
In addition to the roadblocks, international internet watchdog NetBlocks reported that WhatsApp services had been restricted in the region, as authorities brace for the protest.
The demonstrations are centered around calls for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently in jail, with PTI leaders and supporters rallying in his support.
