ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister, senator Rehman Malik of Pakistan People Party (PPP) breathed his last on Wednesday. Rehman was 71. Born in 1951 In a small village of Sialkot, Rehman Malik joined government service after completing his studies. He retired as additional director general Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He later joined politics from PPP platform . He was considered the most trusted political aide to PPP top leadership. Rehman got portfolio of Interior minister and served in this capacity from 2008 to 2013. He was a member of the Senate . Rehman played very active role both as politician and the government servant. He tested positive a couple of months ago. He was undergoing treatment in hospital for COVID-19.
