Residents of Rahim Yar Khan welcome peace efforts in Kacha, Call for health , Education facilities

Rahim Yar Khan: Residents of Rahim Yar Khan have expressed satisfaction and optimism over the restoration of peace in the Kacha area following successful police operations and effective action against criminal elements. They have also urged the government to provide health, education and basic infrastructure facilities to integrate the residents of Kacha into the national mainstream.

In this connection, a grand reception ceremony was organized at Model Grain Market, Rahim Yar Khan, under the auspices of Anjuman Arhtiyan Model Galla Mandi, in honor of Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan Zaheer Anwar Jappa and District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Samo. The event was held to celebrate the restoration of peace in Kacha, successful law enforcement operations, urban beautification of Rahim Yar Khan city, and progress on various public welfare projects.

The reception was hosted by Patron-in-Chief of Anjuman Arhtiyan Haji Muhammad Ibrahim and President of the Association, Chaudhry Nauman Maqsood. Prominent attendees included Member Provincial Assembly Chaudhry Mahmood Ahmed, PML-N leader Mian Aamir Shahbaz, former President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Imad-ud-Din, former Tehsil Nazim Mian Ijaz Aamir, former Nazim Kot Samaba Syed Mahmood-ul-Haq Bukhari, and leading figures of the arhti community and grain market, including Chaudhry Riaz Gujjar, Abdul Hameed Bajwa and others.

Upon arrival, the Deputy Commissioner and the DPO were accorded a warm welcome. Flower petals were showered on them and traditional drum beats and folk dances reflected the public’s joy and renewed confidence over the restoration of peace in the Kacha area.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa said that since assuming office, concrete measures have been taken in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure the provision of basic facilities, improve administrative efficiency and enhance the beauty of the city. He stated that following the establishment of peace in Kacha, the Punjab government has announced a special relief package to provide education, healthcare and basic infrastructure to the residents of the area, on which the district administration is actively working.

He further added that, on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Bahawalpur Commissioner, practical work has been initiated on the establishment of basic health units, educational institutions and road infrastructure in Kacha to bring long-neglected areas into the development mainstream.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Irfan Ali Samo said that from the very beginning of his posting, he had a clear understanding of the situation in Kacha and the activities of criminal gangs operating there. He said that indiscriminate and effective operations were carried out to restore law and order, resulting in the surrender of several notorious dacoits. He assured that those who surrendered would be treated strictly in accordance with the law, while elements challenging the writ of the state and refusing to lay down arms would be dealt with firmly.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Patron-in-Chief Haji Muhammad Ibrahim presented traditional turbans to the chief guests and appreciated the services of the district administration and police. The participants expressed satisfaction over the restoration of peace in Kacha and emphasized the need for sustained security measures, rehabilitation of infrastructure, and the provision of education and healthcare facilities to ensure lasting peace and development in the area.
