ISLAMABAD : After losing government at the centre and Punjab , the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) is likely to get another blow as the ruling coalition partners are working on a plan to impeach president Dr Arif Alvi. The ruling coalition partners’ success in impeachment of the president of Pakistan will subsequently dislodge governor Punjab , Umar Sarfraz Cheema, from his office and bring in the provincial cabinet of new chief minister of Punjab, Hamza Shahbaz.
Although the ruling coalition partners have managed to set aside the constitutional crisis at federal level created by PTI leadership by getting relief from the courts, which concluded at oath taking of prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif and speaker national assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf , but its facing serious problem in Punjab where governor, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, is using different tactics to keep his errant behaviour supreme to his constitutional duties . The governor Punjab is even not taking the court orders seriously . Rather , he rebuked the court by presenting different justifications to deny its orders.The provincial governor is using advice of his handpicked constitutional experts to keep defying the court orders. Its classic example is Ahmad Awais ‘s opinion on oath taking of Hamza Shahbaz.
The entire purpose of the governor ‘s rebellious behaviour is to keep the new provincial government entangled in constitutional crisis. President ,Dr Arif Alvi , has emerged as a real abuser of the constitution . Instead of honouring his role as a head of the state and ensure protection of the constitution , Dr Arif Alvi, is toeing the line of PTI chairman, Imran Khan, to deepen the constitutional crisis in the country for the last almost two months .
Since ouster from power through no confidence , Imran Khan has emerged as a person, who only likes to follow the constitution if his rule is granted and protected by the real power brokers. He has gone for away in want of power. He is undermining the constitution, rule of law and at the same time poisoning the society to put the unity and even stability of the state at risk. He is continuously targeting the military , judiciary and inciting his followers to chase down and intimidate his political opponents. The disgraceful and unfortunate behaviour of his party at Masjid e Nabi is one example . Interestingly, Imran Khan is playing this dirty game of weakening the nuclear state in the name of independence from the US . He is using his cunningness and ability to use lies to convince his followers that he was struggling for better Pakistan. There is absolutely no second opinion that the same Imran Khan has damaged Pakistan economically and diplomatically beyond repair in his three and half years rule. He , as a ruler , provided every opportunity to his cronies to accumulate Ill -gotton wealth . Farah Goghi is its just one example .. Still the cases of his cabinet members like Amir Kayani, Sarwar Khan, Zulfi Bukhari, Shahbaz Gul and his principal secretary , Azam Khan, are to see the light of the day .
In the prevailing situation , the ruling coalition partners have expedited their homework to complete number game and move the case in parliament for impeachment of Dr Arif Alvi.
A key member of the coalition partners told NEWSMAN on Wednesday requesting anonymity that the ruling alliance was actively engaged in securing number game to oust the incumbent president from his office through impeachment .
