Islamabad : A larger bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has granted major relief to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founding chairman , Imran Khan , on Medical ground.
During Monday’s hearing Apex court ordered to Adiala Jail authorities, where Imran Khan is languishing for the last more than three years facing multiple cases , to arrange frequent telephonic conversations of PTI leader with his children , access of doctors , Imran Khan’s sister Dr Uzma and spouse Bushra Bibi to cope with the accused BP and other health issues.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed was hearing cases concerning Imran’s access to his sisters and personal physicians, as well as his medical record.
The court also ordered to constitute a medical board comparing a physician , surgeon , eye specialist and Imran Khan’s personal doctor , Dr Faisal Sultan. The medical board will also have Imran Khan ‘s sister Dr Uzma . The court ordered to shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital , Islamabad to provide him the best medical care.
Imran Khan is suffering from various health issues . He had developed a serious vision issue some months ago . The authorities arranged eye specialist who treated him at Pakistan Institute of Medical Services ( PIMS) Hospital and it resulted in improvement in vision of PTI leader. The Adiala Jail authorities also arranged a panel of doctors more than once to have a complete medical care of Imran Khan in recent months. Each time , doctors panels certified that Imran Khan was in good health , but in recent weeks , he had serious.complaints of BP, anxiety and blood sugar. A medical panel which examined Imran Khan on Monday last , had observed that Imran Khan’s health was deteriorating fast due to anxiety and BP and he needs to be shifted to a hospital for regular examination and treatment.
The court after hearing the arguments and having professional views on the latest medical report ordered shifting of Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital and ordered to arrange best medical care to treat PTI leader promptly.
PTI was expressing serious concerns over Imran Khan ‘s deteriorating health for months and demanding to shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital Islamabad . The Shahbaz regime kept on ignoring these calls and preferred politics over heath of Imran Khan. Even PTI announcement for a countrywide protest to force the government to accept its demand to allow Imran Khan’s sisters and doctors access to PTI leader did not work. Some federal ministers who are very close to PMLN top leadership kept on mocking these PTI calls. On the other hand, Imran Khan ‘s health started to get worse in Adiala Jail.
Finally, SC moved to give relief to Imran Khan by ordering the authorities to shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital.
The court , however, barred PTI leaders from doing media talks inside the hospital as it could hurt other patients there.
The apex court also ordered all concerned to keep Imran Khan’s medical reports undisclosed. PTI chairman , Barrister Gohar and senior leader, Salman Akram Raja assured the court to keep Imran Khan’s medical reports secret.
