RAWALPINDI : Sept 17: The Rawalpindi police finally managed to trace and arrest Shaikh Rashid Ahmad , chief of Pakistan Awami Party , who was on the run for the last four months .
Shaikh Rashid Ahmad was wanted by the Rawalpindi police in connection with May 9 riots.
Shaikh Rashid Ahmad’s nephew , Rashid Shafiq confirmed his arrest on Sunday evening .
Rashid Shafiq told media late on Sunday evening that Shaikh Rahid Ahmad was arrested by the police from his house in Rawalpindi.
Shaikh Rashid Ahmad, who was considered a close political aide to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chairman , Imran Khan , is also wanted to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for his alleged role as a federal minister in £ 190 million unlawful payment approved by Imran Khan’s cabinet for adjustments of Bahria Town’s Riaz Malik.
Imran Khan and his cabinet instead granting approval to deposit the money received from London agency to the state treasury , fraudulently diverted £ 190 (Rs 60 billion) to the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) to adjust it against Riaz Malik’s outstanding amount in Karachi Bahria land fraud .
SCP of Umar Atta Bandial is also a party to this fraud that cost this poor nation Rs 60 billion.
Shaikh Rahid Ahmad was a key in this fraud case as he also has close relationship with Raiz Malik owner of Bahria Town .
Shaikh Rashid Ahmad was instrumental in provoking PTI chairman and his party to go to any length to over throw the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rule.
In a related development , the Lahore police against arrested PTI president , Pervez Elahi , soon after his release in May 9 riots case. Pervez Elahi is now arrested in Lahore master plan case. Pervez Elahi ‘s son , Moonis Elahi, who fled to London soon after Imran Khan’s ouster from the power , allegedly made hundreds of billions from land mafias of Lahore by including many agricultural areas in new master plan. Pervez Elahi facilitated his son for this fraud.
