ISLAMABAD : The former government has started to get what is sowed by triggering a hate campaign against the state organs . Rashid Shafiq , a national assembly member from Rawalpindi and nephew of former Interior minister , Shaikh Rashid Ahmad , has become fhe first victim of ousted prime minister , Imran Khan’s hate campaign . He was arrested from Islamabad airport on Sunday morning on his return from Saudi Arabia where he had uploaded a video message supporting those Pakistan Tehreek e. Insaf (PTI) workers who were involved in hooliganism at masjid e Nabvi (PBUH,) on arrival of some members of the prime minister’s delegation on April 29, 2022. The incident had sent a wave of shock to entire Pakistani nation, but former Interior minister , Shaikh Rashid Ahmed , his nephew , Shaikh Rashid Shafiq who is also PTI member national assembly , Imran Khan’s chief security officer, Shahbaz Gull, former Information minister , Fawad Chaudhary, former minister , Mrs Shireen and a few other PTI leaders not only expressed joy other the incident, but also claimed that such incidents will continue in the future . PTI chairman , Imran Khan, only expressed remorse over the shameful act apparently sponsored by his party when he felt severe backlash of it from some religious quarters. He , however, did not stop to hurl threats of similar reaction against the government top functionaries in the future. The ousted prime minister’s hate speeches have divided the Pakistani nation to a dangerous level.
Now arrest of Shaikh Rashid Shafiq is an indication of more arrests in the case. Feeling the heat due to arrest of his nephew , Shaikh Rashid Ahmad , on Sunday said in his video message that the government action of arresting his nephew in Masjid e Nabvi hooliganism case can not deter him from speaking against it. Interior minister , Rana Sana Ullah , and Law minister , Azim Nazir Tarar , in response to Shaikh Rashid,s press statement held a press conference and said the law would take its course against those Pakistanis who were involved in shameful act of hooliganism at Masjid e Nabvi.
