Sports should not be politicised; Indian journalist Sardar Amanpreet Singh

Islamabad; Feb 6 ,2024: Diplomatic relations and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and India have been suspended for a long time. However, like his good name Amanpreet Singh, Indian journalist Amanpreet Singh is striving for Indo-Pak peace through his pen and sports journalism.

Indian journalist Amanpreet’s ancestors migrated to India from the famous city of Sheikhupura in Pakistan.

Talking to this reporter, Amanpreet said that sports should be kept away from politics. “People want to see their country’s players play.” He added that governments should pay attention to this and move forward. He hoped that both the countries can play their role in spreading the message of peace in the world through sports and it should be done if politics is kept away from the field of sports. I will always remember the hospitality shown in Pakistan.

Sports journalists will publicize the message of friendship as a sport. On this occasion, Asghar Ali Mubarak, founder president of South Asian Sports Journalists Association, thanked him for his excellent services to sports journalism. He hoped that he would continue to spread peace through sports journalism.
