This piece, I dedicate to a royal couple late Prince Adnan Aurangzeb and Begum Zainab Adnan who touched so many hearts with their selfless service to humanity. Heaven, will have only peace that makes it so different and desired a destination that only those will qualify to enter who show compassion to fellow humans and this couple to me will top the list with their humanitarian spirit for selfless service to humanity. .
This cover of the photographic collection by ace freelance photographer Honourable Anita Schenieder, qualified from the New York School of photography, is a tell tale of the devastating floods that wrecked the breathtaking landscape of Swat and destroyed the livelihood of its tragedy stricken residents, who braved many a misfortune in the past including the traumatic displacement from their homes, due to security threats, a phenomenon never known to them when ruled by the Princely State of Swat, where each citizen was provided speedy justice, security, education and health care .
I have known the couple intimately as a family friends, the Honourable Field Marshal Gen. Muhammed Ayub Khan, named after the brave Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan, the Victor of epic battle of Maiwand, who broke the British myth of invincibility on the battlefield, who remained a friend to my late Grandfather Prince Sardar Abdur Rehman Khan Effendi, to whom he remained devoted till his grave and so his entire family to us till today that shows the regal grace and values that remain deeply embedded into the genes of this noble family.
Begum Adnan Aurangzeb, is not only Adnan Aurangzeb’s first cousin but similar in nature and in kindness, benevolence and compassion as it was rare not to find the noble lady not sparing time to visit our old school the Presentation Convent Swat whenever any occasion arose. I couldn’t never think of anyone else other than them whenever there is any community service that requires selfless service without any reward or recognition. .
Today Begum Zainab Adnan has assumed the role of her late husband in humanitarian service by taking care of the Girls Orphanage called Maskan in Swat that was so dear to her aunt’s heart late Begum Naseem Aurangzeb an embodiment of grace, civility and kindness that made her the apple of her father’s eyes and as a guardian angel to many helpless souls left alone in the society especially women who sadly faced worst persecution in the society due to their socio-economic vulnerabilities.
I wish this brave and noble lady Begum Zainab Aurangzeb , good health and long life as she is not only guardian to her own three adorable daughters, but many other daughters at the Maskan to whom she acts as their guardian. Long Live Pakistan And The Selfless Souls Serving Her 🇵🇰
