Islamabad : August 16,2024 : Traders representatives hurled life threats on the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials at a presser held on Friday at the National Press Club. Addressing the press conference , Ajmal Baloch clearly said ” If FBR officials will go into the markets to collect withholding tax imposed in the budget then they will not go back “. Ajmal Baloch went on saying ” We have protected our traders in the past and will protect them now as well and will not allow the corrupt tax men to harass them”. Ajmal Baloch ‘s threat to FBR officials is a serious matter . The use of serious threats to FBR officials can risk their lives on duty. Kashif Chaudhary , another traders representative, also called FBR “Tajir Dost Scheme” as a big failure and demanded its reversal. Traders representatives especially Ajmal Baloch , announced to resist any FBR efforts to bring the traders into tax net . They declared FBR as the most corrupt department of the government and announced that the traders of this country will not allow this corrupt entity to become a new NAB. Pakistan’s traders have the history of denying paying taxes to the state. They use different tactics to dodge tax authorities for not paying their rightful taxes to the government. Ajmal Baloch has a history of spearheading violent protests to force FBR for not adding traders to tax net. He always remains successful in pushing taxmen to stay away from brining traders into the tax net. Pakistan is the only country on this planet whose trades blackmail taxmen and always stay out of tax net . Ajmal Baloch and Kashif Chaudhary , however , want that any incentives given to president and other elite of this country be withdrawn immediately . They also demanded review of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to provide cheap electricity to the traders and other consumers of the country. “Chalees Chor” will not be allowed to plunder Pakistan through IPPs , the traders’ representative concluded .
