ISLAMABAD: The United States (US ) charge d’ Affairs, Angela Aggeler , on Tuesday called on state minister for Foreign Affairs.
The US charge d’ Affairs called on Hina Rabbani Khar at the ministry of Foreign Affairs here.
The US charge d’ Affairs meeting with state minister for Foreign Affairs is the first ever high level contact between US and Pakistan after change of regime in Pakistan .
Talking to US charge d affairs , Hina Rabbani Khar said Pakistan values its relations with Washington and want to strengthen its ties with US for strengthening relations between the two countries . Ms Khar further noted that Pakistan wants to build up its relations with US on the basis of mutual respect and trust.
The US charge d’ Affairs expressed willingness of Biden administration to work closely with Pakistan . She hoped the new government in Pakistan will expand its relations with US.
Pak – US relations are at the lowest ebb since ousted government of Imran Khan opted to take extremely secret matter of a cable sent by Pakistan’s ambassador to US. Imran Khan himself is leading the anti US troll to built up his case against ejection from power. He is accusing US for his ouster from government. Despite repeated denial of having any role in regime change in Pakistan by US top authorities , Imran Khan is keep on pushing his anti US narrative . As prime minister of Pakistan , his case based on anti US narrative for politics has severally damaged Pakistan and US relations .
The new government has attached great importance to Pakistan’s relations with the US and Tuesday’s meeting between Hina Rabbani Khar and US charge d’ Affairs is a good beginning. . Hina Rabbani Khar is an experienced politician to handle the diplomatic affairs of the country . She can make a good and quick make -up to normalise Pak-US relations.
